Ms. Somya Tandon is currently the Project Co-Ordinator of Peacful Mind Foundation. She is currently pursuing M.A. Psychology from Faculty of Arts, University of Delhi. She has been among top 1% in M.A. Psychology and B.A. (Hons.) Psychology from University of Delhi. She has been awarded as “Gem of Keshav” from Batch 2014-2017, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, University of Delhi.
Prior to joining Peacful Mind, she was working under Dr. Rukmini Bhaya Nair on a project titled “Capabilities Approach to Indian Education” at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. As the Vice President of Inspsych (Society of Department of Psychology, Keshav Mahavidyalaya), she has organized a National Conference titled “Youth in Contemporary Society- Issues and Challenges” in 2016. She has also been an Editor for 2 years for Psynopsis- Annual Publication of Inspsych.
Ms. Somya Tandon aims to develop a wholistic perspective towards mental health by bridging the gap between research and practice. Being the member of “Friends for Autism” in school to contributing in field work training with various non-governmental organizations, she has always believed in pragmatic and action-based perspective towards psychology. She has also been trained and volunteered for “Spoken English Programme- Teach India initiative” by Times Group and the British Council.
